Imposter Syndrome & How To Stop It!

To the outside world you have it all right...?

You are your own boss, with a beautiful brand and you are living the dream. Turnover is reasonable (we'll talk about actual profit another day ๐Ÿ˜‰ ), your customer base is lovely and loyal, and you have a product range that you couldn't be more proud of.... so why do you feel like you have impostor syndrome?

Many entrepreneurs feel like you, it is very common and you are NOT alone!

Having the full responsibly of a business resting on your shoulders can feel overwhelming. You know there are some aspects of your business that you should be closer to, enjoy more and understand, but there are so many plates to spin and it's tough doing everything on your own. You don't have to feel alone or lonely, but you do need to ask for help in order to stop the negative head talk and the feeling of being stuck, stressed and anxious.

Stop focusing all of your time and energy on the jobs you love, wishing and hoping that doing more of these tasks will compensate for the jobs you are avoiding. Face into the tasks that you know you should acknowledge. Get out of your own way, stop creating boundaries that restrict your growth because you are paralysed by fear.

By talking "shop" with your family/friends/dog means that you only ever hear the "keep going's", "you're doing great". Their intentions are to be kind and protect your emotions, particularly when you are feeling stressed. All they want to do is wrap their arms/paws around you and make you feel better. Their advice and intent as lovely as it is, isn't the best place for you to hear the honesty that is needed to be a catalyst for change i.e; a friendly kick up the bum and advice based on the actual way to run a successful business!

Make now your time, time to press pause, stop and refocus.

Identify the business support networks needed for different aspects and tasks, by facing into your fears and taking action. Be honest with yourself and be accountable about where your business is at, and the changes that need to be made. Once you identify and/or admit what the tasks are that need more love and dedication (by either learning to do and enjoy them, or outsource them), you can then ask for the RIGHT support from the RIGHT sources.

Celebrate small milestones with every step forward you take. Enjoy the positive feels that come with the confidence and clarity that as a business owner you are owning it not winging it!

You've got this....

Switch on your business mind!

Switch on your confidence!
